An attempt to kick a gang of violent youths out of Tesco has ended with the store manager being assaulted.
A group of violent teenagers who are intent on flouting the dispersal order set by Merseyside police were gathering in the Tesco express on Eastbank Street tonight (Sunday 19 November) when they were politely asked to leave by the store manager after they intimidated customers.
When he asked them to leave, the youths assaulted him and police were called.
However by the time they arrived from nearby Lord street, the youths had fled.
Anyone with any information about the assault or who witnessed it is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101.
