VIDEO | Asda staff commended after the apprehended bungling drunk.

A bungling drunk who tried to outwit security guards at Asda in Southport yesterday (Saturday 8 April) ended up being pinned to the ground.

A passer by shot this footage shown exclusively to OTS News shows a clearly intoxicated man being restrained to the ground at the entrance of Asda on Central 12 after he reportedly became aggressive.

When challenged by staff, he became even more irritable and aggressive and as a result had to be restarted by staff and security guards until police arrived a short time later.

It’s not known what caused the initial altercation although the man is believed to have become aggrieved after losing money on the grand national.

The passer by commended the staff for their professionalism in dealing with the situation.
