Vandals wake up with criminally sore head after Churchtown booze up

By On The Spot News15th September 2021

Stunned parishioners at a Churchtown cemetery say they are aghast after yobs destroyed a number of headstones.

The same vandals also struck at Hesketh Arms pub, finding themselves caught on CCTV as they also stole furniture and destroyed parasols at the popular pub.

The pub garden furniture was bizarrely dragged into the grounds of St Cuthbert’s church where the vandals then embarked on a heavy drinking session.

The incident is understood to have taken place overnight and been fuelled by drink according to those who have since watched back the CCTV footage

Merseyside Police have been informed of the criminal damage and a upturned gravestone has been safely recovered from the grounds of St Cuthbert’s Church to be re-interred.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Merseyside Police
