Vandals strike again to target Southport pier cafe

Vandals have struck again and thrown bricks at the Victorian style verandahs on Southport Pier.

This is the second time in just a few weeks that yobs have trashed the pier. This time they used stones and rocks to smash the windows of Southport pier cafe.

Police are investigating the incident and owners of the cafe are reportedly devastated by the latest attack on their business.

Mindless yobs destroy fledgling Southport Pier cafe business

Vandals have destroyed the new Southport Pier Pit Stop cafe just weeks after it opened.

Staff came to the cafe on the pier this morning to open up only to find that overnight vandals had smashed windows and ripped electrical sockets from the walls in a brazen act of mindless vandalism.

The owner posted a downhearted status to Facebook saying: “We are absolutely disgusted to have walked into the pit stop this morning to find what had happened. Why would anybody do this?”

The incident has been reported to the police but a lack of CCTV in the area means it’s unlikely the culprit will be discovered.
