UPDATE | Stolen cars, motorbikes and quad bikes seized from Shakespeare street garage

Mereyside Police are investigating after a number of suspected stolen vehicles were recovered from a garage in Southport, Tuesday 30thOctober.

A tracker was activated on a vehicle which was stolen from a burglary and traffic patrols attended at a commercial-size garage on Shakespeare Street around 2.20pm.

The premises were secure and a vehicle parked outside. Checks on this vehicle found had been stolen in a burglary in Lancashire in October 2017.

Once inside the premises officers located a number of suspected stolen vehicles including motorbikes, quads and cars together with a collection of motorbike helmets and clothing. In total eight vehicles and vehicle parts were located.

The vehicles and clothing have all been forensically recovered and enquiries are ongoing in the local area.

Detective Inspector Gary Stratton said: “This was a significant recovery of a number of vehicles, parts and accessories. Work will now continue to examine all the vehicles.”
