UPDATE Recovery of overturned CAT Pylon machine in Town Lane Southport

Contractors are 10 hours into recovering the overturned CAT Pylon machine in Town Lane, Southport

They have set up floodlights and working through the night to recovering the machine.

The soft ground on the former tip is causing problems, but contractors are confident the operation will be complete by Friday morning.

The 25 tonne CAT pylon digger overturned onto its side in a field on Tuesday 18th December 2012.

Contractors were pilling the ground when it overturned onto its side.

An investigation has been carried out by Health & Safety officials.
