Rotting food and general waste is overflowing into a Southport Street car park.

Since OTS news reported on the state London Street car park in July it has got even worse.

A London Street shop worker said:

“Last month I contacted the environmental health to report this mess and still nothing has been done. What are we paying council tax for?”

“Still we see rats running along the wall and taking food from the bags of rubbish.

‘The businesses along London Street and Lord Street are stacking waste against the bins and therefore it doesn’t get taken away”.

Reasons for Control: Immense damage can be caused by rats feeding in shops and homes due to both quantities of food consumed, contamination by faeces and urine, and damage by gnawing.  Contamination and possible introduction of microorganisms, which can cause food poisoning, such as Salmonella, make this rodent a major public health pest.  Remember rats carry Weil’s disease (Leptospirosis), which can cause serious illness.
