UPDATE | Man arrested in Southport after Warrington shooting

A SUSPECT has been charged with attempted murder after a man was shot in the leg in Orford.

The 55-year-old victim was injured when gunshots were fired outside a house on Poplars Avenue, Warrington on Friday 24 April.

Arrest

The 22-year-old, of no fixed address, was arrested in Southport on Sunday, April 27.

He has also been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and is due to appear before Warrington Magistrates Court today, Wednesday.

Morris has been remanded into custody until then.

A 53-year-old man who was also arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm has been released without charge.

The force has increased its patrols in the area over the past few days in response to the shooting.
