Appeal for information following serious RTC in Southport

Merseyside Police are appealing for information following a serious injury road traffic collision in Southport yesterday, Tuesday 15 August.

At around 5.25pm, a call was received of a collision involving a Honda motorcycle and a Peugeot car on Preston New Road, near to the junction of Glen Park Drive.

The rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.

The road was closed until around 1.50am while enquiries were carried out.

Inspector Stuart McIver from Matrix Roads Policing said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Preston New Road and witnessed this incident to come forward as soon as possible so we can establish exactly what happened, both before and during the collision.

“Likewise, if you were passing at the time and have any dashcam footage let us know, as this could be vital.”
