Contractors have started to fit the new roof on Meols Cop School Library (Friday 30th November 2012).

Sefton MBC cabinet members gave the green light for Meols Cop high School to get a new library, and IT suite in July 2012, and work is scheduled to be complete by the end of January 2013.

The scheme falls within Seftons council’s Children’s Services Capital Programme and is funded from a Capital Maintenance Grant.

Leader of Sefton Council, Cllr Peter Dowd, said: “This is another example of making sure all our schools are in the right condition and as accessible as possible for pupils to learn and develop.

”By investing in our schools now, this will obviously have positive outcomes for the future.

“We are fully committed to supporting many different projects right across Sefton, and schemes like the one at Meols Cop offer green and environmentally friendly opportunities.

”This is obviously the way forward and we will continue to support them.“
