On Tuesday 14th January, the Birkdale Civic Society are holding an special evening showcasing a selection of restored and unseen images of the area, presented by local historian Martyn Griffiths. These images have been lovingly restored by Martyn, with many having been unseen until now! As well as imagery, the presentation will talk the audience through some of the most significant and interesting features of Southport, and its history.
The evening will take place at the Southport and Birkdale Sports Club, Trafalgar road from7pm. Admission is free to Birkdale Civic Society members, and £5 to public (to be paid on the door). All proceeds will go towards the Birkdale upkeep fund, helping to maintain the local area year on year.
