Unique Activities You Can Do in Southport Before the New Year

    By Laura Baird18th November 2024

If you want to plan some activities in Southport after Christmas, then you have a lot of different options. Some of the most popular ones, with both locals and tourists, can be found below.

    Escape Rooms and High-Stakes Experiences

Escape rooms are one of the most popular activities in Southport. The Puzzology Escape Room has different rooms with varying difficulties. You have Ghouldilocks, where you battle the dark arts, and you have the Miscellany room, which is themed around a mafia murder. With these games, you have an hour to try and get out of the room, and if you want, you can even work with a team. If you want to book this activity, then you can do so by selecting your tickets online. Tickets are available now and this gives you the chance to plan an experience that will start the New Year with a bang.

If you want another gaming experience, then you can also visit the local casino, which is near the town centre. With a range of traditional games and electronic options, there’s something for everyone. If you want some more unique or varied games to play, then you can also sign up with a casino online. When you do, you’ll be able to take advantage of a casino deposit bonus, something not usually available in traditional establishments.  Example bonuses as a new customer include depositing £20 and getting a 100% match bonus. You also have loyalty bonuses, suited to returning players and those who want to play their favourite games with extra incentive.

    Viking Golf

If you want to be transported to another world — or another time — then why not try your hand at Viking Golf? Viking Golf is fun and gives you the chance to explore Southport’s rich history with a twist. The course has 18 holes, with each part of the course having varying levels of difficulty. The course has four themed sections, which take you through all the different aspects of life as a Viking. You will pass through the Boat Yard, onto the Fisherman’s Hut, through the Marshland and then into The Village. If you’re a skilled golfer then this will provide you with a lot of fun and intrigue, and if you’re not, the theme offers a bit of fun for adults who want to plan something for the New Year.

With Southport’s extremely rich and diverse history, sometimes you’ll notice people doing ghost tours that tell you about the people who once lived in the area, and how they could still be haunting the streets today.

In the past, Spookport’s first-ever ‘Ghost Walk’ was held in the town, which provided residents and tourists with a great way to see the area in a new light. Although Southport doesn’t have an official ghost tour scheduled, you can travel to nearby Liverpool, which is roughly a 40-minute drive away. There you will find Tales from the Necropolis, a similar tour which is available in the New Year for those who want a spooky experience
