Planned roadworks in the North West– summary for Monday 7 to Sunday 13 August 2017

A resurfacing scheme on the M6 southbound will provide almost 2 miles of smooth surface for drivers between junctions 28 (Leyland) and 27 (Parbold and Wigan).

Two night closures are planned for the work on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 between 10pm and 6am. An additional closure for the night of Sunday 24 April is scheduled as a contingency. However the expectation is that the works will be completed by Sunday morning.

During the day one lane will be closed and a 50 mph speed limit will apply.

Project manager John Lyssejko said:

“We have designed a very tight programme to minimise the disruption for drivers, and we aim to get the job done in two nights. Once the work is complete, drivers should notice a significant improvement.”
