At around 7pm Southport IRB and quads tasked to search the tideline for two walkers on Southport Beach reported missing/overdue, Sunday 30 August.

Crowds gathered along the sea wall opposite pleasureland to watch the rescue team in action.

The two male walkers were found safe and well near to the Chrysopolis and escorted off beach at around 7.50pm.

The two men appeared to be very thankful to the crew but a little embarrassed of the attention that they had attracted.

Well done to all involved.
