Two critically injured following collision in Preston

Police  are appealing for witnesses after a serious road collision in Preston this morning (Wednesday 9th December).

The incident happened at around 10.15am when a silver Vauxhall Vectra and a red Citroen C3 were involved in a collision on Guild Way.

The driver of the Vauxhall Vectra, a man aged 48, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with a bleed on the brain and a fractured pelvis and is currently in an induced coma.

The driver of the Citroen, a woman aged 51, sustained internal injuries and serious injuries to her foot and was airlifted to Royal Preston Hospital where she also remains in an induced coma.

Sgt James Power from the Road Policing Unit said: “Both drivers have been left critically injured as a result of this collision and an investigation is on-going to establish exactly how it came to occur. I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened and has not yet spoken to us to contact us as soon as possible.”
