Southport hospital appointments return to normal on Thursday after cyber attack.

Therese Patten, Chief Operating Officer, said: “Trust staff have been working tirelessly to return computer systems and clinical services back to normal since Friday’s cyber attack on the NHS.

“We reduced the number of planned services earlier in the week to ensure we continued to provide safe care for our patients following the cyber attack.

“From tomorrow (Thursday) all our services are returning to normal and patients with appointments should now attend as usual. There may, however, be some delays in clinics and we apologise in advance for these.

“We will be in contact with patients whose appointments were stood down and, again, our apologies for the disruption caused to your care which was beyond our control.”
