Truck reverses into post outside June the Florist

Early this morning (Tuesday 5th July) a truck was attempting to perform a U-turn outside the florists when it collided with the post supporting the veranda.

Fortunately no one was hurt in the accident and the veranda is standing. All that as knocked over was some baskets and a bike advertising the shop.

Cllr David Barton told OTSNews.co.uk “Upon learning of the events this morning I immediately made contact with the Sefton Conservation Department as an urgent matter of health and safety for those affected by the damage to the Store front.

I have also directly spoken with the business owner Mrs Eaton to inform her of alternative funding routes which she and other landlords and businesses may be applicable for after previous lengthy inquiries with Central Government.

As a Councillor for the Ward I have offered my help in any way that’s needed. I should like to take this time to complement Mrs Eaton and the staff for their ever professional approach to this unfortunate incident and would implore any one with more information to contact the local Authorities as a matter of importance so that this may never happen again.”
