Travellers descend on Ainsdale

Travellers have descended on land near to an Ainsdale holiday camp, causing misery to traffic wardens and park rangers who need the land for tourist parking.

The travellers, who speak with heavy irish accents, are currently being monitored by officials while a dispersal and disruption order is processed in order to get them mvoing away from the site, near to Pontins Holiday Camp.

OTS News understands that both Merseyside Police and Sefton Council are monitoring the situation closely and are eager to remove the travllers from the land as soon as possible.
However they will need a court order before that is possible.

A passing dog walker remarked to our reporter: “Its a disgrace that they can just rock up and camp where they like. That land is used as an overflow during busy sunny days on Ainsdale beach and the rangers, lifeboat and emergency services need it for instant access.

“They’re causing a health hazard as well as an unsightly mess.”
