Essential Engineering Work
Northern Line
For two weekends in January there will be significant engineering work taking place on our network that will impact our Northen line services.
Saturday 11 January
Rail replacement buses will be in operation between:
- Kirkby – Liverpool Central
- Aintree – Liverpool Central (A 30 minute train service will run between Aintree and Ormskirk due to the scale of the work being undertaken by Network Rail leading to reduced capacity on this part of the line)
- Hunts Cross – Seaforth & Litherland via Liverpool city centre stations (trains will run between Seaforth & Litherland and Southport)
Sunday 12 January & Saturday 18 January
Rail replacement buses will be in operation between:
- Kirkby – Liverpool Central
- Aintree – Liverpool Central (Trains will run between Ormskirk and Walton)
- Hunts Cross – Seaforth & Litherland via Liverpool city centre stations (trains will run between Seaforth & Litherland and Southport)
Sunday 19 January
Rail replacement buses will be in operation between:
- Liverpool Central – Sandhills
- Hunts Cross – Sandhills
Rail replacement buses for Liverpool Central will call at St George’s Hall.
Car Park Closures
Eastham Rake Car Park Closure
Monday 27 January 2020
The car park at this station will be closed, from start of service to end of service, on Monday 27 January due to essential maintenance work.
Spital Car Park – Partial Closure
Monday 14 October – January 2020
Some car park spaces will be out of use, this is due to work being carried out to extend the car park.
Maghull Car Park – Partial Closure
Monday 30 September – February 2020
Approximately 30 spaces will be out of use in Maghull car park. This is due to Network Rail storing equipment required for power supply upgrade work in preparation for the new trains.
