Tractor driver in wheel big trouble

A tractor driver is having a wheelie bad day after causing carnage in Southport, Tuesday 23 October 2018.

The tractor’s trailer malfunctioned and lost a wheel while turning onto Park Road west from the esplanade shortly after 12pm today.

The coastguard was the first on scene to provide support and closed off part of the road, causing delays and tailbacks on the nearby coast road.

It’s thought an overly heavy load has caused the axel to break and the front wheels of the trailer to buckle
