Town set for Air Show return after two-year hiatus

Crowds are set to flock to Southport Beach this weekend with the return of the Southport Air Show.

The show returns after a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, with the Red Arrows appearing on the bill for the first time since 2018.

Tickets

Tickets remain on sale and are split into two areas: general admission (the beach) and VIP (the pier). General admission tickets remain available on both Saturday and Sunday, but VIP tickets have sold out.

U16s go free on both days – but must still have a ticket.Tickets can be purchased on the day.

General admission tickets are £10 per person (or £9 per person for a group booking of 10 people or more).

Parking

Parking is available on the day and in advance when purchasing tickets online.

Car parks open at 09:00 (with exception of Marine Drive and Beach parking which will open at 10:00 on Sat and Sun only). Parking is available on the beach (North Beach only), Marine Drive, Princes Park, the Esplanade Car Park and Victoria Park. Directional signage and stewards will lead visitors to the parking sites.

There is no parking on South Beach so if you are travelling from the South you will be directed to the Esplanade Car Park or Victoria Park.

If you are travelling from the North you will automatically directed to beach parking or the Marine Drive Car Park. If you are travelling from the East you will automatically be directed to other Air Show car parks. Caravans, motorhomes and any high sided vehicle is not allowed on the beach.

Road Closures

Marine Drive will be partially closed, between Weld Road and Marine Parade until Monday 11 July. Diversions are in place however the Council advises delays around Southport Town Centre are likely.
