In the last several years, air fryers have become one of the most commonplace kitchen gadgets. Toasters were the typical convection-style appliance until the invention of the air fryer. These days, combo air fryer toaster ovens offer the best of both worlds, and they are nearly indestructible. This is where we got our eyes on Toshiba’s ML2-EC10SA – BS (come on Toshiba, you can do better at naming ovens). This particular model has been able to attract more than 50 thousand reviews and is rated the number 1 seller at the world’s most used e-commerce platform: Amazon. The consumer product testing company Fit Me Solution also recommends this air fryer. 

In our testing, we haven’t used any sponsored content, nor we were not given this unit from Toshiba. We bought it ourselves and the testing includes two months of prime use in our kitchen. Let us get started with our review of this Toshiba air fryer toaster oven:

Our Testing:

We first air-fried chicken nuggets and chicken wings which is like our signature test for air fryer microwave ovens. To air fry, we used the carrying grill container which comes with the oven along with a nice little stand that can be used in the convection mode. 

We prebreaded the wings before and placed them in the air frying grill. We set the temperature to 375F with the air fryer mode selected for 15 minutes. The result was pretty crispy and was almost up to the mark for the crispiness level which we term as perfect. The wings were still pretty great and almost perfect for our taste. Nuggets were fine when it came to crispiness. 

Next, we tested the convection function for a cheeseburger with pre-made chicken patties. We selected the specific mode and chose 400 degrees with a timer for 16 minutes. After 8 minutes, we opened the door flipped over the burger patties., and resumed the cooking process. At the 16-minute point, we added a layer of cheese and watched as it slowly melted during the final two minutes of this procedure. The result was pretty impressive as the burgers were tasty, and juicy without giving the feeling of being too oily like a traditionally cooked one. 

What we like:

1. The oven is rated at 1000 watts and has a spacious interior of 1.0 Cu.ft, both these specs in our testing were enough for an average food cooking experience.
2. The cooking results are consistent and even cooking especially when it comes to drying and air frying.
3. This oven has an industrial and pleasing look with its black stainless-steel shell which easily blends in any kitchen setting.
4. The handle with this oven is truly convenient. The interior has super bright lighting which is appreciated. 
5. The temperature accuracy of this oven is exceptional, especially in defrosting mode. 

What we don’t like:

1. The meals we cooked were not perfect when it came to crispiness (but still were great). 
2. Although it is very bright, the interior light is not very reliable.  

Is ML2-EC10SA(BS) Worth Buying?

A great starting point for anybody wishing to expand their collection of small appliances with an air fryer toaster oven is this large-capacity model. This model’s user-friendly control panel was huge for us since it has a clear display that indicates the temperature and time settings. With a brief review of this model’s instructions, we believe a novice user will be preparing meals in no time. Another feature we loved about this model was the light inside and the clear view of the front door panel which you can use to monitor your cooking process and comes in handy for the dishes you are trying for the first time.
