Top Southport Photographer claims second consecutive wedding award

Matthew Rycraft scoops regional accolade for second year in a row.

AN award winning photographer from Southport is now on the look out for a bigger trophy cabinet after he shot his way to a top regional accolade this month.

Matthew Rycraft Photography, based at the Mews in Birkdale, has been revealed as the winning Wedding Photographer for the of the Your Merseyside & Cheshire Magazine Wedding of the Year for the second consecutive time!

Matt’s recent successes are now surprise however as the skilled snapper has already been hailed on the international stage when he won Silver in the Wedding Photography Association’s International Photography competition in America.

But there will be little time to celebrate his latest gong, with Matthew already fully booked for a whole host of wedding celebrations until the end of the year – a testament to Matt’s endlessly rising popularity and reputation in the world of Wedding Photography.

A spokesperson for Your Merseyside Magazine said: “It’s a fantastic accolade for Matt to retain his title.

“His work shooting the wedding of Kirstie and Michael McAllister, captured the readers’ imaginations, ahead of dozens of other hopefuls.

“Matt’s photography work played a huge part in helping the couple win the competition with their absolutely breathtaking wedding!”

Speaking following the announcement of his win, Matt said: “To win yet again at the Your Merseyside and Cheshire awards is a fantastic accolade for me in what is already a great time for my business.

“Winning this award and knowing that I help to capture so many special moments is a real honour and it goes to show that my work is of an impeccably high standard, which people recognize and appreciate.

“I’ve been doing this job for over a decade now and I have captured the happiest moments of more than 400 happy couples and the diary is constantly full throughout Summer!

“During the competition I actually had two couples weddings make it to the finals which is a true endorsement to the quality of my work and I don’t plan on stopping getting to the top of my game any time soon!

“I am incredibly passionate about the work that we do at Matthew Rycraft Photography. When I create a wedding album for a couple’s special day I am effectively giving them the most important gift of all – the memories they will look back on for a lifetime and it has to be perfect.
