Detectives from Titan, the North-west’s regional organised crime unit, have arrested six people following dawn raids this morning as part of a large-scale investigation into drugs supply.

Teams of officers from Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside police entered houses and business addresses in Penwortham, Skelmersdale, Maghull, Whiston and Stretford shortly after 6.30am. Titan detectives then arrested five men at these properties followed by a sixth man who was produced from prison in Preston. All six have been taken to police stations across the North-west to be questioned by Titan investigators. Police searches of all the addresses targeted this morning remain on-going.
DCI John Webster from Titan’s command team said:

“This activity has come as a result of a lengthy and complex investigation by Titan and other agencies into the supply of large quantities of illegal drugs in the North-west. I would like to thank the officers from the local police forces where these warrants have been executed for their support in this on-going operation. It is extremely pleasing to be able to arrest six people who we suspect are involved in this conspiracy and search homes and businesses we believe are linked to them. Following these searches the six people will be questioned by teams of my officers at Titan and our enquiries will continue from there. Illegal drugs cause a great deal of harm to people from every walk of life and that is why Titan exists to tackle the top tiers of serious organised crime. We go after some of the biggest criminals in the region who cause some of the most serious harm through their drug dealing and violence and we remain committed to standing side by side with other law enforcement agencies to do all we can to take them out of circulation.”
