Three vehicle pile up involving a removal van on A565 

Traffic is at a standstill leaving Southport after a three vehicle pile up involving a removal lorry this evening, Monday 24 September 2018.

The van collided with two other cars on the A565 as heavy rush hour traffic headed towards Preston.

Emergency services have been called and are currently on scene but have asked motorists to take alternate routes in and out of the town to avoid major tailbacks.

It’s not yet known if anyone has been hurt in the incident.

A police update is expected shortly.
