Three Vehicle Crash On Formby Bypass
Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service attended a three-vehicle road collision in Ince Lane on the Formby Bypass.
Firefighters were called out just before 9.30am to the crash, which happened near the junction of Park Wall Road in Thornton.
The collision involved a black Fiat car, a black Nissan car and a commercial van. A man and woman, believed to be in their 20s, who were in the Fiat, were freed from the vehicle by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment.
The man suffered suspected neck and leg injuries and the woman is believed to have suffered chest pain. The man was taken to Aintree Hospital and the woman was taken to Southport Hospital. A man who is believed to be in his 60s was out of the second vehicle before firefighters arrived and is not believed to have been injured.
Two men, aged around 30, were out of the van by the time firefighters arrived. Two fire appliances from Crosby and Bootle & Netherton community fire stations attended. Firefighters made the vehicles safe and were there for just over an hour.
