Thieves steal donations left for Lifeboat charity shop

7th September 2020

Donations of clothes and toys left for the Southport Offshore Rescue Trust charity shop on Everton Road were stolen overnight.

One local resident who lived nearby says they had previously seen two bags left outside the shop, but some time later the contents had been strewn all over the surrounding pavement.

The Good Samaritan cleared up the donations only to find later the bags had gone.

CCTV is in operation at the store and an investigation has been opened.

Staff from the shop have requested that, where possible, donations are provided during opening hours to prevent both theft and damage to donated items.
