Thieves ransack Playtown and steal money raised for Comic Relief

Thieves have ransacked a Southport Playtown play centre before making off with charity money and thousands of pounds worth of goods.

Thieves ripped out CCTV wires and stole the hard drive, however some footage from the Subway store next door shows a car pull up between 2.10am and 2.30am.

A representive from the company said: “Due to a burglary we will be closed today. The place has been turned upside down. Please accept our sincere apologies”

“If anybody has any information please contact us urgently. Here are are few pictures of the damage.”

Merseyside Police confirmed the burglary was reported just after 9am today (Tuesday 18 April 2017)
