Thieves cut through Dia lock to steal bike in Southport town centre

A local resident has sent out a warning after her sons ‘locked’ bike was stolen from Southport town centre last weekend.

Mrs Barrett said: “I just wanted to warn others that bike thieves are still operating in Southport town centre.

My son’s Cube mountain bike was stolen from the bike stand outside Millets in Tulketh Street on Sunday 14 October, approximately between 11am and 4pm.

They cut through a 10mm diameter lock. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the recommended D lock. Doubt he will see the bike again (cost around £ 500).”
