As the European football season nears its thrilling conclusion, the managerial merry-go-round is gearing up for another spin.

With several high-profile names set to be available, the summer promises to be an intriguing period of speculation and potential appointments.

So, without further ado, let’s look at some of the star-studded managers who could be on the move this summer.

    Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho, the now seasoned tactician, has been out of work since parting ways with Roma in January.

Despite a mixed spell in Italy, which saw him win the inaugural Europa Conference League but make a poor start to this season’s Serie A, Mourinho remains one of the most decorated managers in the game.

With stints at Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur under his belt, Mourinho’s next move will undoubtedly attract attention.

The Portuguese boss has expressed his desire to return to the touchline after a brief hiatus, with rumours swirling about a potential return to a Portuguese club.

    Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Zidane, the enigmatic Frenchman, has been enjoying his time away from management since leaving Real Madrid for a second time in 2021.

Known for his illustrious playing career and successful spells as manager of the Spanish giants, ‘Zizou’ is a name that commands respect in the football world.

Despite his reluctance to rush back into management, clubs like Manchester United and Bayern Munich are rumoured to be monitoring his situation closely, making him a hot commodity in the upcoming transfer window.

Hiring Zidane would be a massive statement of intent from new Red Devils owner Jim Ratcliffe, and could help make Man United more favourable in the betting on football games.

    Thomas Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel finds himself at a crossroads after Bayern Munich announced their intention to part ways with the German tactician at the end of the season.

Despite a disappointing domestic campaign, which sees Bayern sit a distant second behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, Tuchel’s pedigree as a top-level manager is unquestionable.

With potential vacancies at Manchester United and Barcelona, among others, Tuchel could find himself at the centre of a tug-of-war for the Champions League winner’s services as clubs look to inject fresh ideas into their setups.

    Xavi

Xavi, the legendary Barcelona midfielder turned manager, is set to bid farewell to Camp Nou at the end of the season.

Despite guiding Barcelona to La Liga glory in the 2022-23 season, Xavi’s departure could pave the way for another high-profile appointment.

While the Spaniard is expected to take a sabbatical from management, his departure opens up intriguing possibilities for both Barcelona and potential suitors eyeing the managerial market.

    Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp, the charismatic German, sent shockwaves through the footballing world earlier this year when he announced his impending departure from Liverpool after nine successful years at the helm.

With a League Cup already secured this season, Klopp could leave Liverpool with a treble if he can clinch the Europa League and Premier League titles.

However, Klopp is expected to take a well-deserved break from the game, leaving clubs to wait patiently for his eventual return.
