The spice craze keeps taking its toll on Southport.

Emergency services were called to the doorway of a disused shop on Eastbank Street, Southport this afternoon after a man believed to be high on the illegal drug spice collapsed.

A member the public told our reporter that man had been smoking spice only moments before.

He was given first aid by concerned passers by before emergency services arrived on scene. The spice craze, which leaves a user in an almost zombie like state, is sweeping the country and is most prevelant in the North West.
