The Pink & Sparkly Ball returns, bigger and better than ever before!
Claire Simonsen, Radio City Presenter and wife of Preston North End’s new No 23, Steven Simonsen will once again be hosting this years Pink & Sparkly Ball on Saturday 5th October. Claire will transform Formby Hall Golf Club with her Pink & Sparkly theme in aid of the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. The black tie dress code usually sets the bar for ladies to dress in fabulous pink with some gents donning a fetching pink bow tie!
Former Everton, Tranmere and Stoke goalkeeper Steve Simonsen who agreed a one-year deal at the Club in August 2012 will support the event by providing a pink away shirt signed by the team and match tickets for a prize on the evening. Steven said “I’m so proud of Claire and the fundraising she does for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, she works tirelessly to help raise awareness of the charity and I shall be wearing my pink bow tie on the 5th October to show my support”
A huge entertainment programme is planned for the evening which will include new UK pop group ‘On The Line’, Stand-up comic Callum Oakley who came into the public domain after making it to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, fabulous duo Killa Sista, and the superb North Liverpool Chamber Choir to name just a few who will perform on the night.
Claire lost her dad, Mike Flynn to lung cancer just 5 years ago, and said “Myself, and my mum Margaret Flynn have set up the Mike Flynn Tribute Fund within Roy Castle, in order to raise as much money as possible for them to help with the early detection of this terrible disease. We hope everyone will have an amazing night while raising the much need funds for such a worthy cause.’
