The Mount Pleasant pub is hosting MacMillan Coffee Afternoon
The Mount Pleasant is set to host its latest MacMillan Coffee Afternoon – after raising over £750 at last year’s event.
The Mount Pleasant, on Manchester Road, is hosting the event to raise money for the cancer charity on Thursday, August 31.
On offer will be a large selection of freshly baked cakes, there will be a screening of the Jessica Chastain-starring movie The Zookeeper’s Wife on the pub’s big screen.
The coffee afternoon runs from 12pm-5pm, cakes and hot drinks available throughout, with the bar also open.
There will also be a raffle featuring prizes including Cinema tickets, restaurant vouchers and much more.
MacMillan is one the largest UK charities and raises money to provide specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. In 2016, the charity raised £29.5m through its coffee morning events, a total it hopes to exceed this year.
