Sefton Council is supporting the annual Keep Britain Tidy ‘Big Tidy Up’ campaign by asking people to help spruce up the borough’s parks and greenspaces.

A number of events are taking place across the whole of the borough as part of the campaign which runs from October 20-24.

The Big Tidy Up is supported by the Keep Britain Tidy group and Sefton’s participation falls on the back of the successful ‘Park Volunteers’ Week’ which took place in June.

Cllr Ian Moncur, Cabinet Member Children, Schools, Families and Leisure, said: “We have encouraged many different groups and partners to come on board and get involved in the ‘Big Tidy Up’ during October.

“Numerous tidy up events are planned right across the borough so if you have any spare time, please pop down to your local park and lend a hand.

“Not only will you make a difference to your local community and our wonderful parks, but there is also the opportunity to meet other like minded people on a social basis.”
