The Ainsdale Club closes doors after patron’s positive Covid-19 test

12th September 2020

Popular local cricket club The Ainsdale Club yesterday released a statement explaining that they had taken the decision to close their doors with immediate effect after a patron had reported testing positive for COVID 19.

The club based on Liverpool Road have cancelled all scheduled cricket matches this weekend and hope to reopen once the premises have been deep cleaned and sanitised.

Their statement in full:

It has come to our attention tonight that we have had a Positive Covid Test from someone who was in the premises earlier in the week. (MONDAY AND TUESDAY)

As such we have closed the club with immediate effect. All events, and cricket matches tomorrow and Sunday have also been called off.

We will be undergoing a deep clean over the weekend and hope to reopen on Monday evening.

We are going through the cameras etc to work out who the person came into contact and are trying to let everyone know.

If you have any symptoms please get a test.

We apologise for being closed over the weekend but we must do what is right.

Thanks,
The Ainsdale Club.
