The 13th Sandgrounder (Southport) Beer Festival 2012
The annual Sandgrounder(Southport) Beer Festival took place over the weekend at St John’s Hall, Wright Street, Southport.
History: The festival was held in the Arts Centre for the first ten years, until the council closed the building down for major rebuilding.
The Scarisbrick Hotel on Lord Street stepped in and offered us a venue, but after their first festival there, it was taken over by a national hotel chain, who honoured the booking for the second festival, but after that they had to move again.
On Saturday there was unamplified acoustic music and song session’s plus morris dancing took place
CAMRA beer festivals are run entirely by volunteers.
A great weekend was had by all!
