Technical issues brought an early end to the first night of the British Musical Fireworks Championships at Victoria Park.
While the first event, an excellent non-competitive demonstration display from Sirotechnics went off without a hitch in front of a packed crowd, the second display of the night was halted after just a few minutes.
The display from competitors Imperial Lotus showed signs of a technical issue a few minutes in, but continued on for a short while before it was announced to the crowd that technical issues would halt the attempt.
Despite efforts to resume the display, repairs to technical equipment could not be made in time.
After a 25 minute wait, it was finally confirmed the display would not continue.
Tickets for Saturday night, for which 3 displays are scheduled, are sold out.
Tickets for Sunday night remain available.
