Taxi crashes into pedestrian crossing bollard, Southport.

The emergency services were called to Manchester Road, Southport following reports of an RTC (Tuesday 16 May 2017).

A taxi turning right from Queens road towards Lord street crashed into the traffic island at around 7.30am.

The drivers vehicle was stuck lodged up against the pedestrian crossing signal bollard. Paramedics were first to attend the scene.

One resident told our reporter “This is a busy crossing, its lucky no one using it at the time.”

The driver in his 60’s was taken to hospital was a precaution, but were not seriously injured.
