Tapper’s – celebrating 7 years in business!

Sisters are truly doing it for themselves as the Tappers family celebrate an incredible seven years in business this week.

Cahtehrine and Sarah Tapper, who run Tappers Cafe on Union Street, will make an impressive seven years in business this week serving breakfast, lunch and delicious food & drink to thousands of regulars and customers since 2010.

In fact when the sisters first opened their doors, they were told they were mad – launching amid a huge economic crisis!

Catherine said: “Tapper’s opened in 2010 during very difficult economic financial times and every one thought we were crazy!

“Failure was not an option and seven years later we are going from strength to strength as a friendly neighbourhood cafe that is very much part of the local community.

“We always loved our location and although it is off the beaten track for tourists it sits perfectly in the business area in between Hoghton Street and Lord Street.

“Classed as part of ‘The Northern Quarter’ which is thriving with many new businesses and bars. It has definitely improved since we opened our doors and we are now a hot destination within the town centre.

“We have a strong, consistent and professional team that pride ourselves on a friendly customer service. This is evident from our high number of regular customers some of which have become great friends and we are welcoming new faces all the time.

“Our food is lovingly homemade on the premises using fresh local produce from some fantastic suppliers within the town. We are all about keeping it local!

“We are forever updating our menu to keep one step ahead of the highly competitive game with in the town and offer a lovely selection of wines, beer and spirits too.

“Whether people are in for a bagel and bubbles, or just coffee and cake we can cater for everyone.

“We hold regular charity events to raise money and awareness for Sarcoma UK.

“It’s a perfect place to sit and watch the world go by and even spot the occasional celebrity from time to time!”

Tappers also do takeaways and are available on Takeaway site Deliveroo. For more information ro to try them out for yourselves head down to Union Street today!
