Swan delays Southport bound trains
Southport train passengers experienced delays on Sunday (May 22) after a swan entered the track and refused to move.
Resident David Moore was cycling down Cromer Road when he spotted the swan on the railway track between Hillside and Birkdale this afternoon.
David said: “The swan would not move out of the way for the Southport bound train which was creeping forward with the driver sounding the trains horn.
“A Liverpool bound train also stopped and the guards from each train got on to the track and coaxed the swan on to the embankment.
