A suspected drunk cyclist was helped to his feet by passing motorists after he fell from his bike in Kew Road, Southport, at about 11:50am this morning (Saturday 14th July 2012).

The cyclist who was clearly worse for wear was offered a lift home (with his bike) by one of the motorists who went to his aid.  He refused help and managed to wobble down the road on his bike. His first port of call was a litter bin for his empties then it was top up time.

One would think staff in a shop would refuse to serve a customer in such a state, but obviously not in this case.

Fingers crossed he got home safe and well.
