Support your local hospital at Southport Flower Show

Although more used to cannulas than calendulas, doctors, nurses and therapists from Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust are hosting a stand at Southport Flower Show this week.

The stand will be hosted by staff from across the hospital who can chat to visitors about working there, what we’re doing to improve our patients’ experience and the services we provide. Visitors to the stand, E42, can also enter a quiz to win prizes each day.

Visitors who would like to talk about working for the Trust can stop by and chat on any day – a member of the recruitment team will be available to answer questions on the Thursday afternoon too. On Friday afternoon (from 3pm) Dr Alice Bird will be on hand to talk about women’s and children’s services and Miss Helen Mackay, orthopaedic surgeon, will be available on Sunday afternoon to talk about the Trust’s orthopaedic services.

Find out more about the specialist services and the work of the North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre, based at Southport hospital. There is also a chance to meet the matrons and find out how they have developed their role to ensure patients are the heart of everything they do.

The team will be there every day from 10am and will draw the daily prize winners on the stand at 5pm.
