New Southport Lifeboat building under construction

Incredible images have been published today revealing the latest improvements on the brand new Southport Lifeboat hub on the Esplanade.

The aerial footage has revealed extensive progress is well underway on the building, which has been funded in the main thanks to public donations and contributions.

The impressive building on Marine Drive, near Southport Pleasureland, is expected to be the biggest lifeboat base in the North West.

It is being constructed at a cost of £1.4million – a huge effort for an organisation which relies entirely on donations from generous members of the public.

Building work has been delayed this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but is now back on track.

Images have been shared recently depicting the building’s progress from the skies above.
