From Thursday 19th February 2015 until Sunday 22nd February 2015 we are experiencing very High spring tides in Southport. The highest is on Saturday 21st February 2015 reaching (10.5meters). We urge people to stay safe when around the coast line.
This Picture above shows 2 children running up the steps away from the Sea. The picture was taken by Scott Harrison from Seavoice Training who said “Although it may seem like a bit of harmless fun the waves where coming over the wall and the steps would have been very slippy, one wrong move and the children could have been in the water. The sea is very powerful so could have been dragged them out and get hyperthermia in Minutes”.
Please make sure when you’re around the shoreline over the weekend you stay well back from the sea and the waves.
