Stars to open new Queenscourt Charity Shops in our area.

Due to our continued need to raise funds in order to support patients and their families at a difficult time, Queenscourt are expanding the number of retail shops across the areas in which we provide services.  We have opened two additional shops in December and January 2015.  The details of the official openings are as follows:

The official opening of our Formby Shop will take place on Thursday 15th January 2015 at 2.00pm.  The address for the shop is 48 Brows Lane, Formby, L37 4ED. Our Patron Mark Lawrenson will undertake the official ribbon cutting duties.  Mark is a former Preston North End and Liverpool player and can now be seen regularly on television as a pundit on Match of the Day and Football Focus.

The official opening of the Up Holland Shop will take place on Tuesday 27th January 2015 at 11.00am.  The address for the shop is 3 Dingle Road, Hall Green, Up Holland, Skelmersdale, WN8 0EW. Our Patron David Lonsdale will undertake the official ribbon cutting duties.  David is best known as the hapless David Stockwell in ITV’s long running drama Heartbeat, a character he played for nearly 18 years, although he has also appeared in programmes such as Hollyoaks, Coronation Street and Casualty to name but a few.

We would like as many people as possible to attend these openings.  It is a great opportunity to show support to Queenscourt and also meet Mark or David – perhaps have a photo or obtain an autograph. Refreshments will be available for all.

All our shops have new stock arriving daily and the varied supply means that we cater for everyone’s taste. If you are looking forsomething different with a unique style our shops are the ones to visit – with many one off finds offering great value for money. We not only stock fashion items for ladies, we also have a selection for men plus furniture, books and bric a brac.

We always need willing volunteers to help out in our shops and warehouse, people who can spare a few hours each week to help with all sorts of tasks from sorting and pricing merchandise to steaming and creating seasonal displays. If you’d like to know more about volunteering opportunities for Queenscourt HospiceRetail, please contact either Natalie or Pip on 01704 501011 or visit www.queenscourt.org.uk.
