27th October 2016

Spookport, Southport’s unique Halloween Festival is back for 2016, with more spooky, ghoulish goings on than ever before.

Strange, ghostly and spine tingling events have been going on for months, and they continue to build as we get closer to All Hallow’s Eve and the spirits come out to play…..

Spookport Parade

Join us on Lord Street for the breath taking headline parade on Friday the 28th of October from 6pm.  The demons that have possessed the townsfolk of Southport will be driven out with light & lanterns!  With music, dancing and spectacular performances, the Spookport parade is not to be missed.

The mischief and terror begins on the 22nd of October and runs right through until Halloween, with something for everyone, young and old.  Stay on high alert for details of a wealth of themed events throughout Southport, from Murder Mystery nights, children’s crafts & a scarecrow festival!

Spookport highlights include the spine tingling Terror Tours – Not your usual ghost tour and certainly not for the faint hearted.  Be prepared to go on a journey of terror and torment. Discover what is lurking in the shadows as you journey around the town, empty buildings, graveyards and much more.

Children will be thrilled by our free to join, goose-bump filled trick or treat trails.  Get your little monsters in their spookiest fancy dress and join the fun!

Head to The Atkinson for their annual Kids Fest with plenty of Halloween fun.  For grown up ghost huinters there is the Haunting at Greenacre – a real time production that will chill you to the bone

Southport Pleasureland hosts it’s annual Happy Halloween spectacular, a week packed full of brilliant, Halloween family fun.  With magic, wizards, fancy dress and more there will be fun, action and thrills for every generation.

There will be dozens more chilling events throughout Southport, as the whole town turns spooky, from murder mystery nights, shows, mediumship events, children’s crafts and so much more

Children’s Short Horror Story Competition

The Victorian Penny Dreadfuls were early, short horror fictions that created characters such as the Demon Barber.  Ghoulish and imaginative, they conjured up dark tales of werewolf’s, ghosts, vampires and murderers.  Do you know a fiendish and imaginative young mind who could pen a winning short story in their honour? Enter our Short Story competition
