With torrential rain and waterlogged pitches at the weekend a select few teams were able (and brave enough) to play.

FCFC U8โ€™S Orange boys took on FC Northern Black and the 6 young tigers braved the miserable conditions and got about their day with beaming smiles and excellent team moral evident. After a slowish start, the lads heads didnโ€™t drop and game turned into a thriller finishing with FCFC victors. Manager Al Healy said: โ€˜Everyone of the lads could have been MOTM today, it was decided to be given to Sonny who spearheaded the spirited comeback in the first half. It was an excellent effort by all today, the focus shown in training showed on the pitch and a lot more passing, positional awareness and team ethos was clear to see.โ€™

The FCFC menโ€™s team sporting brand new kit started their derby game against Hightown well and after being 3-1 up at half time looked like they would take all the points; but in high-spirited game Hightown came back strong to level the final score at 4-4.

U13 Boys had a good start but then individual errors were costly and were soon 5-0 down. They pulled 1 back when Sam Mycek lobbed the keeper with a left footed volley.

This gave them increased confidence and 2nd half they were more threatening. Manager Colin Hamilton said: โ€˜Main thing is we need to work together a lot more.โ€™ The final score was 1 โ€“ 9.
