Southport’s very own Pokemon Go event

This coming Bank holiday Monday Lord Street will be the venue for Southport’s very own Pokemon Go event, The Mile Long Lure. As of 12 noon, the entire of Lord Street will be lit up purple attracting hundreds of Pokemon. The event intends to bring Pokemon Go lovers across generations to Lord Street, Southport for a great day for the whole family.

There are three ‘gyms’, a key component of the game along Lord Street; West United Church at the south end, Red Rum in the centre situated in the Victorian Wayfarers Shopping Arcade and finally Southport Fire Station to the North. Each of the three teams within the game will be competing to take control of the gyms, creating a sense of friendly rivalry around the event.

To add to the entertainment, there will be fully dressed Pokemon Go Trainers and our very own Pikachu provided by local entertainment company StarKidz, who will also be doing face-paints for children at the event.

Whilst the kids are out catching a Drowzee or maybe even a Snorlax why not take look around the shops, get a quick charge with your coffee and continue on your Pokemon Go adventure. A number of businesses along Lord Street are taking part in the event also, with special offers available to players.
