Southport’s Number 1 radio station lands FM launch date

Mighty radio station, OTS News’s broadcast media partners, have announced the frequency they will soon be broadcastin from on FM.

Mighty Radio was recently awarded a community 5 year FM licence.

At Christmas we will be launching from our new town centre studios across Southport and the surrounding areas, we will be bringing local back to Southport with new and old presenters, delivering local news and sport.

Two of Mighty Radio Directors: Dave Quinn and Trevor Ford quoted “it’s been too long coming but at last it’s here, we made a successful application for the licence and won it hands down, since the news that our application has been successful we have been planning the launch, we have been actively talking to the community and local businesses, community projects and teams about the station its format and content and now we are ready to go.

as a community station we are obviously about the community, it was never going to be easy but Southport needs and deserves a local station that serves Southport, we still have lots to do but the support and feedback has been astonishing, there is still room for local volunteers to get involved, especially for research, production, presenting, putting the kettle on”.

Mighty Radio are currently discussing promotion, business advertisements and sponsorship’s, community projects, and all local sports clubs within the area. For all local sports clubs and societies that want promoting, please get in touch via www.mightyradio.co.uk

We would like to thank all the current volunteers attached to Mighty for their time devotion and commitment to bringing local radio back to Southport, as we have for years continue to broadcast on line were you can tune in on your smart speaker, your mobile device by our app or online at www.mightyradio.co.uk Keep watching this space for further news developments and for the very important launch date on 107.9Fm.
