Southport’s King’s Gardens cordoned off by police

24th February 2016

Southport’s King’s gardens was cordoned off this morning following a police incident that took place in the early hours of this morning.

The cordon appeared this morning, after what has been described as an ‘incident.’ OTSnews has contacted Merseyside Police, and we have been told that a comment will be released soon, 8.30am.

Police remain at the scene this morning. The police cordon surrounds the children’s play area, and a large section of the gardens. It is thought the incident took place at some point last night.

In May 2014 a 21-year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted in the playground area. Last year yobs vandalised Victorian balustrades in the park.

Anyone with information about last night’s incident should call police on 101 of Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 111 555.
